WINDOW SHOPPING

At this time of the year when it's still bitterly cold outside and you can still see your breath as you leave the house it's hard to get excited over your spring summer wardrobe.
Wearing those florals seem so far far away, but take a trip down Oxford Street and your mind won't be that far away from that perfect summers outfit.
The window displays along Oxford Circus are all varied and each store seems to play with a particular SS12 trend each in their own playful way.
Topshop of course did not fail to impress and the creative team should be really proud of their eye capturing display that gets thousands of people through the door everyday.
The window is full to the brim with lashings of colour. The mannequins have been playfully placed between sheets of bright plastic with great attention to detail such as the hair on the mannequins being dyed.
Themes that are leaking from the window are Hawaiian hibiscus,Luxe sportswear and metallics all laced with splashes of neon and colourful accessories.
The airborne mannequins as you walk in left me in an array of excitement but that wasn't just it as you went down to the basement there were mannequins straddling colourful plastic swans. It really was spectacular to walk around I almost forgot about the clothes.!

Nothing really could beat Topshops theatrical display.
Uniqlo came a little close with its revolving cylinder of pastel mannequins that made people stop in street.
Primarks window was lined with crowds of people sitting on the ledge and there was a confused vibe due to mass road works but I managed to grab a look at their window and was presently surprised with the contrast between pastels and brights and the neat tidy positioning of the mannequins.

AW12 ON BOARD

For my Masters interview I decided instead of doing the obvious mood board for SS12 i would be a bit more brave and do a trend predictor for Autumn winter 2012.
From having a little peak at Style Sight it seems the main trends that have been predicted for this season are the following.

TOMATO REDS : Red denims, Beauty and in hair (yes to gingers!) and lots of red lacey lingerie.

BROWNS : Honey, Amber, Caramel all evident in clothes and beauty.

TRIBAL : The handmade look, enthasizing on prints and delicate stitching.

WILD ANIMALS : Lots of faux fur again.

STYLESPOT OXFORD CIRCUS

Found these two beauts whilst trekking along Oxford Street.
What I love about these two is their unique bold style.
I am a massive fan especially of the green leopard print creepers teamed with the fun peace sign leggings.
Good work girls.

HOME

I've moved out of my family home four times now. After the fourth move I came back and two years later I'm still here enjoying the safety and comfort of my creaky little family town house.
In all those moves I've never created a space as much as I love as my bedroom at home.
I suppose its not just the touches I've added and created over the 15years but its the memories that make your room your own.
My bedroom has seen scandal, heartache, friendships, love and most of all it's the place I seek comfort in everyday.
This post has been inspired by the amazingly talented Tavi Gevinson and her new website Rookie,an inspiring site for teenage girls.
One of her posts was "Annie's Room" which was simply a collection of photos of a incredible bedroom that belonged to a girl called Annie.
These photos showed there is a story conjured up in every object that lands its place in a girls bedroom.

After seeing these pictures I couldn't resist taking some snaps of my room to share with you.
Beware they are no where near as interesting as Annie's but to me the objects in them are pretty special.
