Paying Homage to your elders

Who would of thought it would ever be cool to dress like your granny!
From chunky knitwear that looks like its been knitted by your gran to brogues that look like your dad would wear to the office and not to mention the chunky floral prints that look like your nan's curtains,  it is officially cool to dress like your elders.

Alexa Chung is a ambassador for the granny look, with a oversized bold print brown dress, black tights and lace up boots its the perfect way to wear granny and not look like you've rolled around in a pair of musky curtains.

My first eBay mission was to acquire a pair of vintage lace up boots although they are pretty much in every high street store i wanted a pair that that were authentic and paid true homage to this look.
I successfully completed this mission and came across these vintage lace up ankle boots for a bargain price of £11.00.

These beautiful 1950's lace ups can be worn with a lot of my wardrobe i mostly team them with a floral dress and a oversized cardi for the granny chique look but my new favorite outfit to team them with is a pair of high wasted shorts and a blouse which you can now pick up in many different designs on the high street but my favorite is in the picture below.

The blouse i brought after Christmas as a new year treat from New Look and at a bargain price of £20.00 which I'm very shocked with as it looks like something you would pick out of Topshop for about £30.00. its so pretty and i love the detail on the fabric. My mum says its exactly like what she used to wear in the 70's I've teamed it with high wasted shorts, this pair is an old pair of shitty jeans from a charity shop i picked up for £2.00 and cut myself, finished off the look with a gold belt that wasn't so cheep from a vintage shop in Nottingham and then of course the granny lace ups, perfect granny chique mixed in with high street and nothing like a pair of nasty curtains!

So i decided over the New year my resolution was get involved in this whole idea of blogging i have no idea if im going to be any good at it but im gonna have a bloody good go and who knows someone might even read it!
My blog is basically going to be about all about my Charity shop rummaging and the things i come home with to add to my pride and joy... My wardrobe.
im also a massive ebay addict its becoming a problem i think, i love to sell all my old stuff and trade it in for new it's so exciting when that parcel arrives!

So i suppose i should start today with what i did which was the monthly place all the items that are in my wardrobe that havent seen the light of day on ebay.. which today was a sad affair because there were some real vintage fitties that ive bunged on there

This amazing 80's statement jumper i brought from a vintage shop in Nottingham from lace market, its one hell of a jumper and im sad to sell it, but realistically it has not come out of the wardrobe since i brought it and i think it deserves a better home.
Among the vintage items i also shoved half of Topshop on there too. But heres to out with the old and with the new!
