LOOKBOOK

LOOK

I found these on the Lookbook Nu facebook page.
what i love about these looks is the mix of vintage fashion with a simple pair of high waisted shorts. Top off that look with a feather necklace and lots of bracelets and this is a simple summer look. I'm loving everything Aztec at the moment and the top in the above picture is something Ive been hunting for for ages.

Had a little perv on the guys whilst i was there, all the looks seemed the same, but this one was the best of the bunch. I like the colours of the camel and the red cheque together.

HOLIDAYS

Beyond Retro's Beautiful Endless Summer shoot featured in Betty Magazine is giving me the holiday bug. To be young and carefree and hang around in fields all day seems like such a distant memory!
Get nostalgic/jealous or just have a ganders at some beautiful photography.

DIRTY PRETTY THINGS

Channel 4/E4 has just pleased my eyes with a hell of a lot of good looking human beings.
After only just getting through the last stages of mourning the end of The Model Agency.
E4 have kindly allowed me to continue my fascination with beautiful people through their new Concept Doc, DirtyPrettyThings.
The show in a nut shell is a documentary that is based around Dazed and Confused ex photographer Perou.
Perou is a fashion photographer and a curator.
For a new exhibition idea he wants to create photos with models that stand out and that reach new boundaries to audiences. he wants to challenge the up and coming eight models and see just how far he can push them to make them reach their full potential.
Have a well deserved perv below on the 8 lush humans.

Dirty Pretty Things

Jay my favorite, think I'm crazy in love right now.

Charlotte, potential new girl crush.
The first shoot was an underwear shoot on location, the models were thrown into the middle of London in freezing cold temperatures to be photographed against some of Londons famous icons.
Perou is a genius with this picture, I love the way how the location and colours of the underwear are all heavily scripted and planned however this contrasts with the naturalistic behaviour of the models and how their actions just happen to look like they have been caught on camera by accident. You can see this by the way the model on the end isn't even looking at the camera and is re adjusting her bra.

And one more for you.
This one was taken on Millenium Bridge.
I like the way the handbag is being held over jays pants, it adds some comedy to a rather stern shot.

MUSIC

It's hard not be mesmerised by Adam Barnes and his band, not just by the acoustic rhythms lined with American folk influences, but by the pure youthful beauty of the 4 piece.
Adam who is hard to believe is only 19 catches an audience with his treacle Bon Iver influenced voice but also with his pure passion for musicianship.
You can tell behind his shyness on stage Adam is a guy with dedication to his guitar and determination to succeed and grow as a artist.
Adam warmed up the crowd at Fat Lils Witney with Lighthouse a song from his debut EP Blisters. Lyrically the song captivates your mind with imagery unlike other artists of the same age and genre who simply write about lost girlfriends and parting friendships. Adam on the other hand uses imagination with his lyrics that send you into his youthful mind.
Adam seems rather nervous this evening which is not surprising as he has just shared the stage with two outstanding American artists whom he played with whilst travelling the States, Chris Ayrer and Matt Simons. Adam however manages to pull the nerves back with his honesty to them and his passionately strong performance.
Its so hard not to smile whist watching Adam especially with his last song where he grabs the drumsticks moves a single drum to the crowd and starts beating it and sings rawfully. In this moment it portrays his innocence contrasted with his masculinity, you can also see from this honest performance just how much music means to him and its hard not to let it pull at your heartstrings.
Adam Barnes is one to watch out for and one day all the years of gigging the small clubs and back street pubs along with his loyalty to his guitar will pay off for him, I'm positive of this.

GOTW

Urban Outfitters are at it again and have another cute competition up their sleeves.
This one is for budding illustrator's and Graphic design graduates who send their work in to enter the Graduate of the week competition and the best one gets picked every week.. simple.
Here are the winners so far, my favorite is Safiya's who mixes religious images of Mary with a hint of playfulness and child like imagery.
